Worksheet of a Venn diagram.
Worksheet of the frogs' cycle of life.
Presentation on frogs and toads.
Square piece of paper
Smartboard
Initiation: Teacher is going to start the lesson with a presentation on the frogs and toads, this presentation is going to have some pictures and facts on the topic. Follow by the presentation students are going to read a story on frogs, and work on the exercises on the pack.
Lesson Development: Day 1: Presentation - 10 mins Teacher is going to start the presentation on the smart board on frogs. Teacher is going to read the first fact about the topic, the teacher is going to pause and ask if the students have any questions. For the second fact, the students are going to read all together out loud. After the teacher is done with the frog's presentation, she is going to open the second presentation on toads. The same routine is going to be follow, the teacher is going to read the first fact and show the picture of the toad and point out the descriptions just mentioned by her. Works on pack - 15 mins Students are going to have the opportunity to answer questions about the reading, if they have any questions they can raise their hand and the teacher will answer it for them. Venn diagram (pairs)- 5 mins Teacher is going to pair the students. They each one are going to get a sheet with the Venn diagram and a small envelop with the facts that they are going to sort out. Students are going to review what they learn about toads and frogs with their classmates, before they glue it on the paper, students are going to raise their hand so the teacher can double check their work.
Day 2 Whole class activity (frogs' cycle of life) - 10 mins On the second day, students are going to review the life cycle of the frog. After that, the teacher is going to pass out a worksheet with a circle divided into six stages, and six different stages that the students are going to need to differentiate from each other. Once the students have a time line for the frog they are going to glue them on the circle, and color them. Frog Origami - 15 mins The teacher is going to give a square piece of paper for each student. The teacher is going to have a bigger piece of paper so the students are able to see the step by step more clearly. Closure: Students and teacher are going to put together the cycle of life of the frogs. The teacher is going to give directions on how to make the jumping frog's origami.
